MSI’s Mini-ITX Motherboard with Intel Atom Pineview launched:

MSI has announced the release of a new mini-ITX board, designed for use with the Intel ICH8M chipset and Intel Atom processors, on a low power platform. The I M-PV-C includes two DDR3 800 MHz So-DIMM sockets, five COM ports, eight USB 2.0 ports, and multiple video output. Depending on the processor, the board can also support up to 4GB memory.

MSI’s latest offering is particularly suitable for industrial applications, as its Intel ICH8M chipset and range of Atom processors are combined with low power consumption and high performance. Particularly noteworthy is the power input, which makes it ideal for low-power platforms – it supports ATX, and spans the full range of DC 12V-24V inputs. Also key is its capabilities in high-resolution video (up to 1080P).

The I M-PV-N, with D425 or D525 processors, can provide up to 4GB of system memory, owing to its two DDR3 800 MHz So-DIMM sockets. With N455/N475 processors, it provides a maximum of 2GB. Storage comes from its support for 3 SATAII ports, and the unit has high connectivity thanks to its 5 COM and 8 USB 2.0 ports, and DVI, VGA and LVDS video outputs, enabling twin display. The I M-PV-N’s network capabilities are provided by integrated Intel 82574L GbE and 82567V LANs, and the board is easily expandable through its PCI and PCIe slots.
