First Zotac ION 2 powered NETTOP!

Zotac have announced their first mini computer powered by Mini-ITX motherboard with ION2 chipset onboard! That is wonderful news for all HTPC enthusiasts! ION2 is supposed to be even more powerful that first generation of ION (that is still the best solution for hardware encoding on Mini-ITX motherboards).

New Zotac’s nettop is called Zbox HD-ID11 and is powered by Nvidia GPU with Intel’s Dual Core D510 Atom CPU running at 1.6GHz. New chipset will allow your applications to automatically switch from built in Intel GPU to NVIDIA with hardware video encoding that will work perfectly with your Full HD movies.

New ZBOX will be available without RAM nor HDD but Zotac have left some space for a single 200 pin DDR2-800 SODIMM and a 2.5-inch SATA hard drive bay… So you can make your own setup that would fit all you needs!

Moreover like all recent Zotac’s mini motherboards this nettop have 802.11 wifi, gigabit ethernet, six USB 2.0 ports, a multi-format card reader, VGA and full 1080p HDMI with 8-channel sound.

We still don’t know the price of new ZBOX. But whatever it will be – I want one! 🙂
